Application of ProtoxAkvagrund2

What is ProtoxAkvagrund2?

ProtoxAkvagrund2 is a colourless, water-based agent to protect untreated outdoor woodwork against rot, fungus, mold and blue splinter. The product can also seal inaccessible areas against mold growth, e.g. roof structures, inside wall structures and under tiled floors.

ProtoxAkvagrund2 is very odorless and after drying there is no smell at all.

Be aware that a surface treated with ProtoxAkvagrund2 will have its potential vapor permeability reduced. A surface treated with ProtoxAkvagrund2 can therefore act as a vapor barrier. Remember to take this into account when choosing a treatment method.

Where do you use ProtoxAkvagrund2?

  • Used on new and old, untreated, outdoor woodwork
  • Can be used for wood protection on e.g. windows, doors, wooden terraces, coverings, eaves, wind deflectors, fences, carports and under-roofs made of plywood or other wooden materials
  • Can be used to seal mold growth, e.g. on roof structures, inside wall structures and under tiled floors
  • Used on wood with a temperature above 5°C, a relative humidity below 80 % and a wood moisture below 18 %

Preparation

ProtoxAkvagrund2 is ready to use and must not be diluted further.

The range is 4-6 m2 per litres, but it depends a lot on the absorbency of the wood. On new wood, the product can reach up to 8 m2 per litres.

The product must be stirred before use.

Ensure good ventilation during the treatment and during the drying period.

Always read the safety data sheet before using the product.

Application

ProtoxAkvagrund2 can be applied with a brush, by spraying, dipping or application machine.

Avoid spillage of the product on the ground or in watercourses.

Always carry out the treatment on a reinforced surface or with a cover.

Aftertreatment

The drying time is approx. 1-2 hours before the surface is dry to the touch and approx. 24 hours until it is ready for overpainting. Drying is best done at a temperature of 23°C and a relative humidity of 60 %.

Utensils and tools are cleaned with soap and water after use.

ProtoxAkvagrund2 is stable for at least 2 years in unopened packaging and must be stored frost-free.

Empty packaging and leftovers can be thrown away with the household waste.

If wood treated with ProtoxAkvagrund2 is exposed to wind and weather, it must be protected with a surface treatment, which must be continuously maintained according to the manufacturer's instructions. All water-based products for outdoor woodwork can be used.
