Moulds typically appear as green, black, brown or white patches - from a few millimetres to several centimetres in size - often with a furry surface. They occur especially in damp environments, for example on woodwork in bathrooms, window sills and on or behind wallpaper, plaster and mortar in brick and concrete walls.
