ProtoxKombi Aqua
- A revolutionary new wood preservative from Protox

In the past, we have only been able to prevent wood-decay fungi and wood-decay insects by treating with a combination of 2 products. This wasn't because there weren't combination products that worked against both wood-decay fungi and wood-decay insects at the same time, but only because we couldn't vouch for these combination products.

Traditional combination products are often solvent-based - this is because it is technically much easier to get both insecticides and fungicides dissolved in turpentine.
In general, developing a water-based product is much more complicated than making a turpentine-based solution, as the active ingredients do NOT dissolve in water and therefore need to be "persuaded" to stay in the water phase without turning into crystals at the bottom of the canister or an oil film on the surface.

Another route to combination products has been boron-containing products, where we have seen a whole range of unfortunate properties, including those of a purely application-technical nature, where products must be kept heated to be sprayed at temperatures found on construction sites in Denmark for much of the year. Furthermore, these products have the major disadvantage that they pull out of the woodwork and appear as crystals on the surface. The crystals attract moisture, which increases the risk of mould growth and makes subsequent treatment with paint impossible.
