Products for the prevention and control of wood-boring insects

Briefly about wood-boring insects

Wood-boring or wood-decaying insects can occur in both new and old woodwork.

Infestations are often detected by round or oval drill holes in the surface, which vary in size from 1-5 mm. The holes are formed when insect larvae develop into adult insects and gnaw their way out of the wood. Drill meal is often also seen around the holes.

The actual decomposition takes place while the larvae live in the wood and form larval tunnels. Depending on species and size, the larvae can stay in the tree for several years and cause anything from minor to severe damage.
