ProtoxEncapsulator is a product to sealing mold attacks in inaccessible places where mold remediation is therefore not possible.
- Seals mold infestation in hard to reach places
- Does NOT fight mold
- May ONLY be used by professionals
The advantages of ProtoxEncapsulator
In hard-to-reach places such as roof structures with sloping walls, under clogged floors and in cable ducts, it can be difficult to combat mold with mechanical cleaning. Here, a seal can stop the spread of mold spores by sealing the attack. It neutralizes the attack and ensures that it does not spread further. With ProtoxEncapsulator, you get a strong seal that protects the indoor environment against mold spores from the attack.
ProtoxEncapsulator has been tested and approved
With ProtoxEncapsulator, you can improve your working environment more than other sealants. The product is water-based and has a low MAL code of 00-1. This means that the product is not classified as dangerous, harmful to health or similar. This means that you meet the requirements of the Working Environment Act to always use the least dangerous product to solve the task when you use ProtoxForsegler.
Use of ProtoxEncapsulator
What is ProtoxEncapsulator
ProtoxEncapsulator is a sealant to stop the spread of mold infestation in inaccessible places. The product does not fight the attack, but seals and renders it harmless by preventing the spread of mold spores.
Be aware that surfaces treated with ProtoxEncapsulator will have their potential vapor permeability reduced and may act as a vapor barrier. Remember to take this into account when choosing a treatment method.

Sealing
A seal may be the only and therefore the best way to prevent the spread of mold spores from mold attacks in inaccessible places, e.g. roof constructions with sloping walls, under bricked floors, in cable ducts etc.
If the sealing is to be done in inhabited area, where the sealed area has an open connection to the indoor environment, you must use ProtoxEncapsulator. The product has the same good sealing properties as Protox Aquagrund2, but contains far less fungicide, and has like ProtoxProtect no outgassing of fungicide to the indoor environment.
If the sealing is to be done in uninhabited area, we recommend Protox Aquagrund2 instead of ProtoxEncapsulator. ProtoxAkvagrund2 has a relatively high content of fungicides and is approved as a definite wood preservative. Unoccupied areas can include unoccupied attics, under floors and places without contact with the indoor environment.
Documentation of sealing
If you choose a seal instead of a mold clean-up, it is important to get it clearly agreed with the owner and users of the property, so that no misunderstandings arise now or in the future.
With a seal, you neither remove the mold nor the discoloration, but encapsulate and render it harmless. A visual inspection of the treated area may therefore appear as if the mold infestation is still active.
It is therefore important that the owner/users of the property receive documentation of what treatment has been carried out, by whom, when and with which product. Then they can later – e.g. in connection with the sale of the property - document that it is an old, well-treated and harmless mold infestation.
