What are boring beetles?

Boring beetle is a generic term for several different insect species that live in and on wood. The most common is the common borer (Anobium punctatum). Boron beetle (Anobium punctatum), which is found in almost all older houses.

Infestations are most often seen as round or oval holes in the woodwork and sprinkles of "boron flour" under the holes.
