A great many people suffer from all kinds of allergies, including perfume allergies, where the number of people allergic to perfumes is increasing. This is according to a study carried out by the Knowledge Center for Allergy, where the conclusion is that the content of perfume substances, which can cause lifelong allergies, is still too high in perfumed consumer products.

Precisely because of this problem, there are today many products such as detergents where no perfume has been added. But what do you do when you're allergic to perfume and have smelly things like sports shoes, leg braces and sofa cushions that can't stand or go in the washing machine?
Protox Odorless breaks down odorous substances
The problem of perfume allergies has always been a focus area for Protox. With the product ProtoxLugtfri, a biological process has therefore been envisaged in the development of the product, so that it completely avoids perfume and instead penetrates and breaks down the odorous substances in a natural way.
"With ProtoxLugtfri, we make use of nature's own invention, which are bacteria that make enzymes that break down, live and eat the odorous substances. Put simply, the enzymes digest the odor substances and use their enzyme systems to break them down so that the odor and substances disappear. Therefore, we do not need to add any kind of perfume substances that can cause allergies", says John Lundsgaard, Technical Manager, Chemist and Biologist at Protox.
Protect the environment with Protox Odor Free
Because there is no perfume in ProtoxLugtfri, the product leaves no chemical residues, which is the case with other washing and cleaning agents. According to John Lundsgaard, many cleaning agents not only leave chemical residues in the form of perfumes, which are bad for people's indoor climate. Some cleaning agents also contain quaternary ammonium compounds and hypochlorite, which are harmful to the environment.
"A great many odor camouflage substances such as perfume have been proven to cause allergies, and we see no reason to spread that in people's homes. And when we talk about chemical residues, some cleaning agents contain quaternary ammonium compounds, which are harmful to the environment and kill all aquatic organisms such as fish, seaweed fleas, algae, etc. So you leave behind something that has a profoundly harmful effect on the environment. The same is the case with the substance hypochlorite, which leaves a lot of by-products. And it is actually the case that hypochlorite is on the Danish Environmental Agency's list of unwanted substances because they want it off the market", explains John.
Do you also suffer from a perfume allergy and would you like to use products that do not have any harmful effects on either your indoor climate or the environment?
